Lama Dog Tap Room + Bottle Shop has twenty taps of craft beer from around the country with the occasional international selection.
Our bottle shop consists of the best beer available from local distributors, as well as beer that I hand pick from frequent brewery trips around California. Our wine selection consists of four taps of local wines, and a small selection of bottles from assistant winemakers and winemakers who produce very small quantities. Customers can purchase bottles to go or drink them on premises for a small corkage fee.

The Lama Dog Tap Room Story
Hi, my name is Pete Burnham. I started the Lama Dog Tap Room because I developed a love for craft beer while working as an assistant winemaker in SB county. Although I still love wine, the craft beer scene really excited me and I saw a glaring unfilled niche in the SB beer scene for a bottle shop/tap room. Although we are becoming a brewery-rich area, the bottle shop/tap room aspect was lacking. We also have quite a bit of small-lot wine for sale including my own label.
What Makes The Lama Dog Tap Room Different?
We really focus on a constantly changing tap selection. Our list changes daily, and there is always something new to try. Also, we don’t rely solely on the beer distributors, I actually make trips to breweries throughout CA to pick-up. By doing that, we are the only tap room/bottle shop in the area with access to those particular beers. Our bottle selection focuses on hard to find beer and consists of roughly 350 different bottles.
What’s Our Vision?
To provide the largest variety and highest quality beer in the county. I want us to be the store that people think about when they’re looking to get an interesting beer, and we’re well on our way to becoming that. We actually won the “best beer selection” in the Santa Barbara Independent this year after just being open for a few months.
What Can You Expect When You Come?
They can expect a wide variety of beer being poured by highly knowledgeable beer experts. Our staff can answer any questions in regards to what we have on tap and can point the customer in the right direction. We also have four wine taps and plenty of wine bottles. Any of our bottles can be had either in-house or can be taken home.
What Kind Of Events Do We Have?
We offer several different beer classes during the warmer months, as we host them outside on our patio. We also host tap takeovers from various breweries roughly twice a month (a tap takeover is when a brewery comes in and puts several of their own kegs on our taps).
Where Do Folks Come From To Visit The Lama Dog Tap Room?
We get folks from all around the country that specifically come to visit us when in Santa Barbara but our primary clientele are folks from in and around the Santa Barbara area including Santa Barbara itself, Goleta, Carpinteria and Ventura.
