PLINY THE YOUNGER IS COMING TO TOWN!

Pliny The Younger from Russian River Brewing Company is coming to Lama Dog Taproom in the Funk Zone. These images are the Pliny The Younger logo and the Russian River logo side by side.

We’re excited to be selected to pour Russian River Brewing Company’s Pliny the Younger this year. We look forward to having you here to experience this one of a kind, limited beer. Due to the rarity and demand for this beer, we’re going to have a few guidelines for this release. Please read below for answers to any questions you may have.

WHEN: wednesday, February 8th at 11:30am.

The Beer: (from Russian River Brewing Company)

Pliny the Younger is a Triple IPA.  Though the ABV usually finishes at about 10.25%, it is remarkably dry for the amount of malt used in this recipe. Loaded with hop aroma and flavor, PTY is well-balanced with malt and a lingering dry and bitter finish. We brewed PTY for the first time in 2005 as a winter seasonal release, building upon the Pliny the Elder recipe while pushing the envelope with malt, hops, and alcohol just to see how far we could go.  We kept this year’s Pliny the Younger recipe pretty much the same as last year, brewed with Amarillo, Chinook, Citra, Crystal, Mosaic, Nelson, Simcoe, Warrior, and with a new addition of Nectaron®.  PTY has always been double dry hopped, before DDH became a popular label addition.

We’ll be doing a 1 pour per person limit at $9 for a 10oz pour.

We’ll also have many other Russian River beers on tap!
